Fire Breaks Out in Rome, Forcing Evacuations

Evacuations Underway in Several Buildings

A major fire broke out in Rome on Wednesday afternoon, July 31, 2024. The blaze began near the Court of Appeals and quickly spread, forcing the evacuation of several nearby buildings.

Rai Headquarters Evacuated

The fire also spread to the headquarters of the Italian public broadcaster RAI, located in Via Teulada. As a precaution, the entire building was evacuated.

Monte Mario Fire

The main fire is located in the Monte Mario neighborhood and has been spreading rapidly. Firefighters are currently battling the blaze, but there are no reports of injuries at this time.

Evacuations in Casal Lumbroso

Two smaller fires have also been reported in Rome on July 17. One fire occurred in the Casal Lumbroso area, while the other was reported in an industrial building.
